Firefox meet Google Chrome

"Google Chrome is a browser that combines a minimal design with sophisticated technology to make the web faster, safer, and easier."

I just downloaded Google Chrome and it is fantastic. Much faster than Firefox and slightly more attractive interface.

Highly recommend.

"Yoga, an ancient but perfect science, deals with the evolution of humanity. This evolution includes all aspects of one's being, from bodily health to self-realization. Yoga means union - the union of body with consciousness and consciousness with the soul. Yoga cultivates the ways of maintaining a balanced attitude in day-to-day life and endows skill in the performance of one's actions.

Walking On A Dream

by Empire of the Sun.

Walking on a Dream
How can I explain
Talking to myself
Will I see again

We are always running for the thrill of it thrill of it
Always pushing up the hill searching for the thrill of it
On and on and on we are calling out and out again
Never looking down I’m just in awe of what’s in front of me

Is it real now
When two people become one
I can feel it
When two people become one

Thought I’d never see
The love you found in me
Now it’s changing all the time
Living in a rhythm where the minutes working overtime

Catch me I’m falling down
Catch me I’m falling down

Don’t stop just keep going on
I’m your shoulder lean upon
So come on deliver from inside
All we got is tonight that is right till first light

"Obama be thy name"

I found this on a blog- It's quite interesting the amount of media that was generated on behalf of Obama.
And on such an international level.

Obama be thy Name:

The internet is making our world so small. I love it!

I Shared.

Today I watched a video called "Inside the Transition: Meet members of the Energy & Environment Policy Transition Team" on (Obama's new site).

It made me want to share my ideas about energy independence- here's what I said:

"While I feel investment and research in alternative types of energy such as wind and biofuels is important, it is my opinion that the truest form of energy independence comes in the form of solar energy. I have no doubt in my mind that if we put enough time and money into the research and development of solar energy, every house, car and business could run efficiently and cheaply on solar panels. What they do not use could be run back into a community grid or stored for later use. Please invest in solar energy. It is the truest form of energy independence.

Thank you.
Ashli Hilton"

After, I sent this in an email to my pals and asked them to take part!

After sending the email I got a call from my friend Will who said that morning he too had sent very much the same message to Obama and his transition team letting him know that solar energy is the way to go. Weird eh?

Anywho, just thought I'd share.
You should too! Talk about anything you'd like- healthcare, gay marriage, foreign policy, minimum wage, women's rights etc.
It's easy.

ABC News: How to Get Fat without Trying.

MSG and High Fructose Corn Syrup have addicting properties. They are chemicals which are in foods which most Americans eat. They can be found in 100% of fast foods and in every soda! Americans are victims. They are not aware of what they are eating. Currently there is no limit to how much MSG or HFCS can be put into our foods. The FDA needs to regulate this!

Our food supply is terrible terrible terrible.
Eat organic!! Eat vegetable, fruits, WHOLE FOODS!

Surprising Signs You'll Live a Longer and Healthier Life

From Prevention Magazine:

1. You're a Tea Lover
Drinking tea 1-2 times a day is good for your heart. Make sure it's a fresh brew though. From the moment water is added, the health benefits begin to diminish.
Recommended teas for heart health- Green or Black teas.
Calming- Chamomile or Lavender
Antioxidant- Red Teas (Rooibos)
Digestive Health- Ginger, Peppermint, Lemon.

2. You'd Rather Walk
Those who find ways to move a little more throughout their day will live longer healthier lives. 30 minutes a day is recommended.

3. You Skip Soda (yes, even diet)
Why Soda is bad: 1 or more servings/day doubles your risk of
high blood pressure,
elevated insulin levels,
excess fat around the waist,
increased risk of heart disease and diabetes.
Soda Drinkers also regularly expose their taste buds to artificial sweeteners which can increase cravings for sweet things.
Better Choices: Water (try drinking only water for 3 days- how much better do you feel?) Tea, Sparkling water w/ a splash of juice if you need a fizz fix.
By controlling blood pressure and cholesterol levels, preventing diabetes and not smoking you can add 6-9 healthy years to your life.
Also, you'll lose 1-5 lbs within a week of kicking soda.

4. You Have Strong Legs
Lower-body strength= good balance, flexibility, and endurance.
Weak thigh muscles is the #1 predictor of frailty in old age.
Quick Exercise: "Phantom Chair" aka wall-sits.
Do it till your legs can't take it. Do this daily, increasing a few seconds each time.

5. You Eat Purple Foods
Concord Grapes, Blue Berries, Red Wine= Purple color from Polyphenols- which are compounds that reduce heart disease risk by keeping your coronary arteries and blood vessels flexible and healthy.
Whoa Bonus: Eat 1 cup of Blueberries every day to improve memory and brain function.

6.You Don't Like Burgers
Eating 18 oz+ of red meat/ week ups your risk of colorectal cancer. Also, keep your portions small (palm size- 2 1/2 oz). Also, try to avoid processed meats.

7. You've Been a College Freshman
According to the article, a Harvard Medical School study found that those with more than 12 years of formal education (even if its 1 year of college) live longer. Why? They are less likely to smoke cigarettes. 10% of those with undergraduate degrees smoke compared with 35% of those with a HS education or less.

8. You Embrace the Challenge
People who consider themselves disciplined, organized achievers live longer and have up to an 89% lower risk of developing Alzheimer's. WHen you're good at focusing you use more brainpower. Set personal career goals and challenge yourself to meet them by a certain time. Also, try to stimulate your brain with new things.

9. Random Tips from Me
Eat more veggies (frozen is a good way to go.)
Avoid salt, processed foods!
Don't you want to know what you're putting in your body? Read the ingredients!
(If you don't understand one of the words- forgettaboutit.)
Trade white for wheat (bread, pasta, etc)
Say good bye to sugar.
Eat Dark chocolate.
Add 1 tsp/day of Cinnamon to your diet.

10. To Make it An Even 10.

Best of: Election Aftermath Coverage on the Interwhebs

What the Celebs have to say:

•Oprah Winfrey was at Grant Park in Chicago when Obama gave his acceptance speech. "It feels like hope won," she told Britain's BBC News. "It feels like there's a shift in consciousness. It feels like something really big and bold has happened here, like nothing ever in our lifetimes did we expect this to happen." She talked about how no longer will there be just red states and blue states, and that "the color purple rules."

•Director Spike Lee also weighed in. "It's a great day, it's a beautiful morning, a new dawn, a new beginning — not just in America but the world over."

•George Clooney issued a statement early Wednesday, "I congratulate President-elect Obama on his historic victory, and now it's time to begin unifying the country so we can take on the extraordinary challenges that this generation faces."

•Hip-hop superstar Diddy, who posted videos online supporting Obama, said, "I felt like my vote was the vote that put him into office. … And that may not be true but that's how much power it felt like I had."

•Jamie Lee Curtis wrote a long thank-you note to Obama posted Wednesday on the Huffington Post website. On her list, "Thank you for understanding World History, Geography, countries and cultures, religions, customs and America's tarnished reputation in those very countries. Thank you for voting against the War and for continuing to voice that opposition."
